Last game proved that just a huge game from Pierce is not enough to carry this team to victory. Garnett simply has to step up. Wilbon was just discussing KG and how Gasol and company cannot guard him. KG needs to get his head on straight and realize that. If he can avoid stupid fouls he can dominate down low. His 20 foot jump from the top of the key is great, but he just needs to bang down low (that’s what she said!)

And that’ll do it. They played just about a perfect second quarter. Pierce creating for everybody else; KG stepping up finally; Posey and House were huge when Allen was hurt. A prototypical third quarter would be huge.

I’m a Big Baby fan but that was certainly an “interesting” decision to put him out there. If it was to counter Turiaf’s energy I suppose I can see that, but even though Davis played hard defense, Gasol was just abusing him on the block. Not his fault, just not quite tall enough for that particular situation.

It just doesn’t get any more fun than this. Simmons pointed out how KG’s legacy could have still been injured even with a championship (which was true after last game), but he acquitted himself quite nicely tonight. A perfect ending.
